Why We’re Doing MACH Differently This Year
At MACH, we’re focusing on materials, tooling management and meaningful manufacturing performance improvements.
MACH has always been a showcase for the latest technology in UK manufacturing, and this year marks an important milestone for Helix Tools – our debut at the exhibition, alongside our sister company, Floyd Automatic Tooling.
But simply exhibiting wasn’t enough for us.
We wanted to approach MACH differently.
Moving Beyond “Sectors”
Manufacturers don’t machine “sectors.”
They machine materials.
Steel behaves differently to stainless steel.
Aluminium behaves differently to titanium.
Inconel behaves very differently to everything else.
Each material brings its own challenges. And if those behaviours aren’t fully understood, productivity suffers.
That’s why our focus at MACH is centred on material expertise. We’re structuring our stand conversations around the tooling management challenges engineers face every day.
Bring Your Tooling Management Challenge
At Helix Tools, we don’t see ourselves as just a tooling supplier.
We see ourselves as problem solvers.
Whether it’s premature insert wear in stainless steel, inconsistent surface finish in aluminium, or heat management issues with superalloys, we’re inviting visitors to bring their tooling management challenges to the stand.
Often the issue isn’t just the tool itself – it’s the combination of geometry, coating, cutting parameters, coolant strategy and supplier choices. By focusing on both material behaviour and tooling management, we can have more meaningful conversations that lead to measurable improvements in performance, efficiency and cost.
Tooling as a Managed Asset
Tooling is more than a consumable.
In many facilities, tools are still stored in drawers, stock levels are estimated and usage isn’t fully tracked. That lack of visibility can quietly erode margins.
Modern tool vending systems change that dynamic completely. They introduce traceability, accountability and real-time usage data, giving manufacturers greater control over tooling spend and reducing downtime caused by stock-outs or mismanagement.
For us, vending isn’t about installing cabinets. It’s about helping customers turn tooling into a managed, measurable asset that supports production performance.
The Power of Partnership
Behind everything we do is a carefully selected supplier network. We’ve built our portfolio to ensure that we can match the right tool to the right application – particularly when machining challenging materials.
Our job is to combine expertise, product knowledge and application insight to deliver the most appropriate solution for each customer.
That philosophy extends to our presence at MACH. Sharing a stand with Floyd Automatic Tooling reinforces a collaborative approach, bringing complementary expertise together to support engineers and production teams more effectively.
See You at MACH
If you’re attending MACH this year, we’d love to talk – Stand 20-440. You can even arrange a pre-booked session with one of our team with the form below.
Bring your material challenges to discuss with us.
Bring your tooling management frustrations.
Bring your inventory control questions.
Let’s move the conversation beyond products and towards performance.
